All HOPE programs require students to meet basic requirements.
An eligible student must:
- Meet HOPE's U.S. citizenship or eligible non-citizen requirements;
- Be a legal resident of Georgia;
- Meet enrollment requirements;
- Be in compliance with Selective Service registration requirements;
- Meet academic achievement standards;
- Be in good standing on all student loans or other financial aid programs;
- Be in compliance with the Georgia Drug-Free Postsecondary Education Act of 1990;
- Not have exceeded the maximum award limits for any HOPE program
In addition to the eligibility requirements above, below are the specific requirement for each HOPE Program.
HOPE Scholarship
- Students must graduate with a HOPE GPA of 3.0 + rigor requirements. Your HOPE GPA is different than your GPA on your CHS Transcript.
- PLUS...Students must have 4 Rigor Requirements. See eligible classes that count as a rigor requirement here
- Only English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and World Language are calculated into the HOPE GPA
- HOPE only adds .5 quality points to AP or IB courses, but 4.0 is the highest value they grant so a grade of A in an AP and IB course does not earn any extra quality point.
- Check your HOPE GPA here. Ensure that your Social Security Number is keyed into your personal profile and you will be able to view your HOPE GPA. Use your name that we have on record at Campbell HS, no nicknames, when you are creating your profile.
- The HOPE Scholarship covers ~80% of tution at Georgia's public insitutions. The percentage is different if you are attending a private college in Georiga. Please go to the Georgia Student Finance Commission website to see specific amounts for your school of choice.
- Students must graduate from high school with a HOPE GPA of 3.7 or higher.
- PLUS....Received these test scores:
- SAT: Combined EBRW Score and Math Score of 1200 or higher
- ACT: Composite score of 26 or higher
- PLUS...Students must have 4 Rigor Requirements. See eligible classes that count as a rigor requirement here

- The Zell Miller covers 100% tuition at Georgia's public institutions. For private colleges, students receive the full private HOPE award. Please go to the Georgia Student Finance Commission website to see specific amounts for your school of choice
HOPE Grant
- The HOPE Grant can only be used at one of Georgia's Technical Colleges. It is for diploma or degree seeking program students only.
- There is no minimum High School GPA or test scores requirement for the HOPE Grant
- Students must be residents of Georgia and be graduating from a Georgia high school.
- The HOPE Grant pays for tuition, fees, and books.
- HOPE Grant recipients must maintain a 2.0 at the Technical College in order to receive the HOPE Grant.
Zell Miller Grant
- The Zell Miller Grant can only be used at one of Georgia's Technical Colleges. It is for diploma or degree seeking program students only.
- There is no minimum High School GPA or test scores requirement for the Zell Miller Grant
- Students must be residents of Georgia and be graduating from a Georgia high school.
- The Zell Miller Grant pays for tuition, fees, and books.
- Zell Miller Grant recipients must maintain a 3.5 at the Technical College in order to receive the HOPE Grant.
- Zell Miller Grant is awarded retro-actively after the first semester of classes. If the student earns a 3.5 GPA or higher, they will be paid retroactively for the prior term.
